The primary purpose of Self-Reliant Employment Support Services is to ensure that individuals with intellectual and development disabilities have the right to a college education, employment, self-sufficiency, and participation in the life of their community.
Self-Reliant Employment Support Service’s focus is on the participant’s “person-centered-plan”. The goal is to ensure that the individual’s objectives and goals are clear and that the steps in the process have the best chance of resulting in successful outcomes. The participant’s “person-centered-planning” process empowers the individual, promotes self-reflection, personal insight, creativity, and allows for a wide range of possibilities.
Both Co-founders possess a combined 21 years of experience in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and community-based program leadership. The focus on learning and growth is naturally ingrained into the services and operations of Self-Reliant Employment Support Services.

Self-Reliant Employment Support Services (SRESS) practices person-centered-planning and thinking, We have a deep respect for our participants and their equality. We take time in getting to know each individuals strengths , talents and the things that make them unique.
Each individual person-centered-plan is a critical aspect of our program. It involves a process and approach for determining, planning and working toward what an individual wants for his or her future while being fully integrated into their community with non-disabled people.

SRESS will continue to provide a trained Skills Guidance Coach who will work side-by-side with program participant, while enhancing their employability skills.

Internships
Participants in the paid internship program have a variety of models, including self-employment enterprises and apprenticeships. This may also lead to other business opportunities.
